So, as usual I've been very absent on DA lately.... thanks mainly to my horrible work schedule.  It's been absolutely terrible the past few months... I've been pushing 80+ hours a WEEK.  Bah!  It's totally zapped whatever shred of artistic creativity that I might have had left.  I haven't even been gaming... everytime I would go to login or pick up a controller I'd end up just putting it back down, since I knew I wouldn't have enough time to actually enjoy the game.  Besides who else is online at 9am when I get off work??? No one.  Anyway... it finally seems like work MIGHT be going back to a "normal" close to 40 hours a week schedule, so  I hope eventually I might be able to try doing some form of drawing or at least start practicing my digital coloring again.  Oh and to celebrate finally getting a day off work, I just picked up Red Faction Armageddon... I love it.  Red Faction has been one of my favs ever since the first one years ago, and this one looks like it may be the best yet!

I've also been really busy with my fish, I added a 37 gallon tank in addition to my 10 gallon and everytime I drive by a pet store I can't help but go look for new interesting fish and plants to add... I've become a bit of and addict.  I can become glued to the tank for hours just staring at everything... a bit pathetic I know but I can't help it.

Hmmm what else... I was able to make it to Sakuracon awhile ago, it was pretty great... especially the ExistTrace concert... wow they were really rocking, the crowd really got into it and you could just feel the energy, probably the highlight of the weekend for me!

Okay so after I get into my new schedule I plan on actually using the dozen or so learn how to draw manga books I've bought in the past several months.  I really really don't have much talent when it comes to drawing... but I'm hoping if I go back and start with the basics and work my way up then maybe I'll improve with enough practice.  I still plan on focusing on my digital coloring since I seem to be naturally better at that, but I feel kinda silly having to use other peoples drawings in order to practice my coloring.  I'd like to someday be able to color my own drawings!    Alright that's about it for my ramblings... just letting myself know that I am still alive and figured logging in to DA and writing something would be a step in the right direction toward actually making some art... baby steps... infant, newborn, tiny baby steps.

And thank you for the awesome art you put up, especially the lineart! Several of yours are on my todo list. I love the Power in a Bottle pic you did, looks so good! makes me want to actually take an art class or at least learn how to use photoshop =p

hahaha, well thank you, that's an awesome compliment, and I appreciate it! I have to say though I've been in art school for a year and I haven't had a single class even touch Photoshop. I've self taught myself digital painting over the last 8 or so years. But what art school has given me is much better understanding of anatomy, proportions, composition, light and space.

Even if you can't take an art class, I would highly recommend doing some figure/life drawing in your free time. It's extremely helpful!

Thank you so much again for the comment, it made me smile and that's a nice way to start the day, no? :)
